Auto Immune Diseases

This category includes some of our sickest patients. Autoimmune diseases occur when something causes the cells in a patient's body that are normally employed fighting off viruses and bacteria to deploy against the patient's skin.  There are a number of autoimmune diseases we treat including: pemphigus, vasculitis, erythema multiforme and lupus.

Roxy had an adverse reaction to one of her vaccines leading to hair loss on her ears.

This is a close up of a dog with erythema multiforme, a serious autoimmune skin disease sometimes caused by a drug reaction.

Pemphigus foliaceous is one of the more common autoimmune diseases we treat and often causes lesions as seen on Sweetie Cat’s ear.

Lesions on the paw pads can be a very painful aspect of immune mediated disease.
